rice cereal in arsenic, what are your thoughts?

we just got the go-ahead on rice cereal. well i was talking with a friend and she mentioned that rice cereal had high levels or arsenic in it, and i hadn't heard that, so i did some research and now i see the news stories. i'm torn, i was hoping to start with rice because she has been EBF, so i wanted something gentle to digest. and her doctor didn't mention anything the other day about it. so i don''t know. any advice?

I am wondering the same thing? I think I may start dd on oatmeal first. She is ebf too!

Not sure on the arsenic stuff, but I remember with DS that rice really constipated him. I also have a friend who is a nutritionist and learned in school that veggies should be introduced before grains. My dr started DS on rice, but this time around I think I'll start with either oatmeal or veggies instead.
