I'm not TTC, just thinking about names. Do you think Cate could work as a stand alone name? I am not crazy about any of the full names that go with it, although I don't hate all of them either. Just curious!
My 2 year old cousins middle name is Cate and I love it! They wanted a modern twist to our nana's name Caterina Italian version or Catherine American version.
This. As a Katie (Katherine) who wished her parents would have just named me what they were going to call me (Katie) my whole life....I actually like the idea of Kate as a full name..
But don't really like Cate...(oh and Kate you can find on little name things at disney...Cate I doubt you would find and your kid would always have to correct the spelling.)
Ha! Interesting point... but as a "Lesley" in a world of "Leslies" I would definitely be able to commiserate with her!!
One of my friends named her daughter Kate. I prefer the K spelling, and I think it works as a stand alone name. Personally I prefer more formal names with nicknames, but I don't think there's anything wrong with Kate.
I really like Cate and think it could absolutely stand alone!
I'm also not a huge fan of some of the longer names that go with... but do like Catelyn. I also went to college with a girl named Catrina who went by Cate.
