You ever have those moments in life where everything just kind of stops, and all you can hear is the beating of your own heart? Well I just had one of those moments.
We received the results from Hubbs SA, and although his motility went up to 48% from 20% his numbers were still below the 5 million mark to do IUI. She advised his morph was like 2%. SO just not enough to do anything. WHEW, it was like a kick in the head. We kind of knew, but until they tell ya, you hold out for hope.
They advised us that based on everything our only real chance/option is IVF with ICSI, and we can do it any time I am ready. She said he has some pretty good sperm and my body is doing well for a 34 year old, no time like the present. She also said she hopes I am pregnant, and won't need to do anything. 10/5 seems like a bigger day than I ever thought, pregant, or the start of the IVF road.. I am scared, excited, crazy, hopeful, all into one. I am a little sad I didn't even get to try IUI, but then again I am glad at least we have some option. I am blessed no matter how you look at it!!!!
Thank you ladies for reading this, and being here for me.

I hope you're KU and don't even need IVF, but if you do move on to that, then I'm glad you guys have a good plan moving forward!

Oh my dear, I completely understand and sympathize with the shock of being told IVF is your only option! It's terrifying and overwhelming. I won't lie and say it's a walk in the park, but be encouraged that many have traveled that road and we are all here to support you! The Infertility board has a ton of ladies doing IVF and we even have cycle buddies. I'm part of the "September Sweethearts" and I can't tell you how much those ladies have helped me...we have all gone through this together and it's made it bearable.
The October ("Pumpkin Patch") and November (I think "Turkey Basters") have badges and have already formed a close knit group. There are weekly check-ins and like I said you will have a lot of support and an answer for any question imaginable.
Every cycle is different, but if you have any questions, please let me know! I will be with you every step of the way:-)
Wow, sweetie... 10/5 is a big day for both of us as it is my beta day!!
I know IVF can be a scary thing and, hopefully you don't have to go there, but if you do, you know I'm here for you!!
((((hugs))))

I'm so sorry you had to get that news. Trust me, I know exactly how you feel. We were so hopeful that we would be able to do an IUI after the varicocele surgery. When I got that phone call, my heart stopped and my stomach dropped. I went home from work that day and cried my eyes out.
Our only option is IVF with ICSI, too. I just keep telling myself that there are some good sperm in there and ICSI takes away the fight for them to have to get to the egg. And since I don't have any issues that we know about, IVF is helping us overcome our one obstacle to getting pregnant. So I'm thinking our odds are pretty good. At least that thinking keeps me positive.
