? about Hep b vaccine and one month visit

I never posted much during pregnancy, so hope nobody minds a late comer.  My son was born 10 days early, on August 28- in the ambulance!  Crazy experience/ birth story for sure.  Anyway, he had his Hep B vaccine in the hospital.  I am slightly annoyed with our pedi's office because his next visit isn't until next Friday.  He will be 5 and a half weeks at that point.  His first and only visit so far was on the Tuesday after we were discharged, so at one week old.  (We went home Friday of Labor Day weekend, therefore the office was closed, that's why it was a week vs. a few days)

Does anyone know if the second dose of the Hep B vaccine is supposed to be given within a certain timeframe?

Our pedi said she'll get shots at her 2 month appointment. I am assuming that will include Hep B.

My pedi said we can do it at the 2mo or the 1mo if I want to break up the shots so he doesnt get as many at his 2mo. We will be doing it at his 1mo.

Im surprised they didnt have you come in for a weight check at 2 weeks. We dont have an appt until his 1mo but I was told to stop by the office at 2w to have a nurse weigh him and update his chart.

And congrats, welcome to the board. I think we need to read your birth story. Sounds interesting.

Our office does it at the 2 month appointment. Welcome! And I agree, we need to hear this birth story!

DD2 got her second HepB shot today at her 1 month appointment

Our pedi said the 2nd shot cannot be less than 28 days apart.  That is why most doctors do it either on the 1 month or 2 month appointment.

My pedi does the shots at the 2 month appt.  They aren't even having us come in for a 1 month.  He was back at birth weight at 7 days old, so we didn't even have  a second weight check.    Congrats on your LO and I remember seeing your name, I think, from early in the first tri!

I'm confused as to why you are annoyed at your pedi. DD had an appt at 5 days old and her next appt isn't til 2 months.

From what I understand they just have to be a minimum of 1 month a part and that they usually do the second dose at the 2 month appointment with the other shots.
