I had to go to the bathroom and thought Carter could keep himself busy playing with his new toys for a minute. Wrong. I come back out and can't find him anywhere. Then I hear him laugh...from upstairs! He had crawled all the way up the stairs by himself!

We don't have a gate at the bottom yet, because our stairs are weird and we can't figure out how to make it work. Also, he knows he isn't supposed to play on them and usually doesn't. We have a gate at the top, but it's broken already.

To make things worse, he then tried to fit himself through the banister rails upstairs! Luckily, his head is too big, which so knew, but still...no fear!

How scary.  Glad he made it up okay and his head didn't fit through the rails.

Wow!!  He sure can climb!  Glad he is okay after that stunt.

I forgot to add that I did have his jumperoo and toy box in front of the stairs...he moved them and then climbed up.

Ugh, my heart is still racing. Boys!

I understand your worries! I was doing laundry downstairs, and all of a sudden M got really quiet. I looked for her and she was halfway up the stairs! I didn't even know she could climb them yet!
