CD Brand "Real Nappies" any opinions??

Hello all 

I moved from the UK to live in dominica in the caribbean (aka the nature island) and think it would be awful to use disposables. however, shopping here is a little bit tricky and CDs would have to be shipped in from the US or UK (and customs will tax it too!)

So I have been looking for a simple, effective, more or less guaranteed to work on any baby CD solution. This is my first baby and everyone thinks i am a little crazy to want to CD but I am determined it will be better for baby, environment and my pocket! So far i think what I have read about real nappies they would do, does anyone have any other suggestions or used them?

I know they are not as cute as some of the other brands I just worry that if i run out of supplies I will be in trouble (it takes around 4-6 weeks to have things delivered here without spending a huge fortune on dhl costs) 

Your thoughts/suggestions will be gratefully received

From what I understand its basically a prefold cover system. I didn't see on the site how many prefolds they include in their set packs, but seems like they supply just three covers per size, which won't be enough for a newborn as poop tends to get on the cover frequently no matter which fold you use. If I were you I'd look into other prefold and cover systems, they might just work out cheaper, plus you can tailor your purchase more to what you want when buying items seperately. I highly recommend Imagine prefolds with Thirsties Duo Wraps.

The Birth to Potty set looks like an ok deal but you?d want to get a few more crawler and toddler prefolds along with a few more wet bags.  The Essentials Pack is rough, you?d need about a dozen more prefolds, a few more covers and wet bag.  If you?re really tight on money the Essential pack will work but I?d still get a few more prefolds.  I personally don?t like velcro covers b/c my LO?s like to undo them and then you have a nakey baby with possible poo on their tails running through your house.   Check out a few other websites Bumpies like for different options that fit your personality better.   My favorite sites are www.cottonbabies.com  and www.jackbenatural.com
