Please sweet baby Jesus let them get the original Broadway cast.
I hope they do too. However the downside to using the original cast is that is may tank at the box office because the actors are not "household names". That slight chance of not attracting viewers who have never heard or watched the Musical seems very likely.
Sadly, it also seems that they are keeping all of the details under wraps except for the fact it started to film in about July and is projected to be released in 2014.
Also, I have no idea if y'all have seen this. Something to enjoy in the meantime.
When I saw it on Broadway, Megan Hilty was Glinda. She's now on "Smash" so while she's not super popular she's at least a little recognizable (and to be honest, younger and less plastic surgery-inflicted than Kristen Chenoweth). I could see them maybe going with Lea Michele as Elphaba.

I had the same thought as I read this. I agree with you on Kristen Chenoweth too. She's great but she's looking rough.
This is the first I've heard of it, but I hope it will more closely mirror the book than the musical. I LOVE the musical, but the story in the book is just so much better.
I almost think they could make two different movies. One following the book and one following the musical. I know they won't but I feel like the book they could make much darker and it would have a whole different feel.

I hold on so hard and pray that I won't say something wrong. I look at the stars and dream that the universe was ours.
Yes, please dear little sweet baby Jesus

Uhhhh, mmmmm, hmmmm, ehhhhh.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. But regardless, I'll go see it.
Rent wasn't bad if you knew the story line and appreciated it.
