C-sections

Abdominal pain

I'm 10 weeks pp, had a great recovery and then all of the sudden over the past couple weeks I've been getting this abdominal pain.  The thing is, it's not my incision at all.  It's almost like period cramps but it's upper abdomen and upper back (like right below the shoulder blades).  I usually take some of my Motrin, drink a cup of hot tea and get the heating pad and it goes away. But in the past few days its been more frequent.  Do you think this has something to do with the c-section or could it be something else?? I feel like there is gas associated with it as well...

Re: Abdominal pain

  • Anytime I hear upper back and abdomen, I think gallbladder.  Gallbladder pain is typically worse on the right side, but can be both front and back, and mine always radiated across my whole back, shoulder blade to shoulder blade.  Gallstones aren't uncommon during or after pregnancy because of the added progesterone.  It might be worth calling the doctor.
