almost 10lb newborn & flip diapers?

we have been using some free diapers we got as shower gifts since we brought LO home.  He's close to 10lbs now, if not already.  He was 8lbs 10oz. when born so he had a headstart!

We have all flips, but they look so big compared to the sposies... do you think they will fit him now?  Should I even try?  They say 8lbs +

All you can do is try.  My son started wearing his OS diapers at 10 lbs, but the don't fit some babies until closer to 12.

Oh.  And any cloth diaper compared to a sposie is going to look big!

My DD was 8, 15 when she was born.  I ended up w/ an unplanned CS so we didnt do cloth right away because we were avoiding the extra laundry.

 Anywho, about 6 weeks in when I tried it the Flips technically fit her, but I dont think she liked them very much.  By folding the insert into the back her butt was higher than her head when she was laying down.  I gave it another 3-4 weeks and she's been fine in them.

mine was about 3 weeks and not even quite 10 lbs yet. she had chunky legs so it worked! all you can do it try and with the bg's (not sure with the 3.0's) but they have the nb insert that is nice. makes it not so bulky, and since you're changing pretty often at that point i didn't have a problem with leaking etc. i switched to the regular inserts at around 2 months

My son was 9lbs 10oz at birth, so we started with the flips (and BG 4.0s/Freetime) immdiately.  We just made sure the snaps were set at the shortest rise and the snaps or aplex were tight enough around his waist for comfort and no leaks.  He had skinny legs (they're chunking up now and filling in the gaps!), but that was the only problem.  Otherwise, they worked fine and still do.
