Baby update (or lack thereof)

I had my 39 week appointment yesterday and my blood pressure was high at the beginning of my appointment and at the end, so my doc sent me to the hospital for monitoring. I knew it was about 50/50 whether I would be sent home or kept, but of course I got my hopes up because I am SO ready to have this baby!

We got there and the baby and I were monitored for about an hour. My BP was low the entire time and the baby was just fine. Which is great, I know, but I was really hoping they'd keep me and I'd either go into labor or they'd decide to induce me.

I've been having contractions for 10 days now, just nothing regular or productive. And still, at my appointment yesterday, I was only 2cm and 50% effaced. To look on the bright side - at least I'm a little ways there, right? I begged my doctor to strip my membranes, because I had that done the day before DD was born, but so far it has not sent me into labor.

The good news is that I am now officially off work. I was going to be finished after today anyhow, but when they wanted to send me for monitoring last night and I didn't know what was going to happen, my boss and I decided I would just be finished a day early.

So now my plan is to go for a nice long walk and keep up all the other labor-inducing tips that I've been doing for the past week!

She was 4 days early...so I've had it in my head this whole pregnancy that I'll have this baby at least 4 days early or even earlier. I know, I know, all pregnancies are different and blah blah blah. I just feel like she should be here by now!

I hope she makes her appearance very soon!!! Maybe she was waiting for the weekend?? I always assume second babies will come earlier than 1st babies but I know that's not always the case.

Ugh, those last few days of wondering and waiting are the worst!! I hope she's here this weekend and that you have a smooth, easy delivery. Take a walk and eat some jalapenos!! Good luck!!

Ugh, I feel for you, hang in there.  Since I have to go into labor on my own in order to have a VBAC I started all the OWT stuff this week , RRL tea, EPO, sex, walking (even though two minutes on my feet kills my back) and I'm going in for acupuncture next week, if acupuncture doesn't work I'll move onto relfexology.

Hang in there, and keep trying those old wives tales.  I ate half a pineapple and dtd the night before my water broke!  Good luck!!

I've heard both acupuncture and reflexology work - I know in my case acupuncture did, although I was going for different reasons. I have a great acupuncturist if you need any recommendations!

I feel for you too - I felt "ok" until 40 weeks and my due date was on a Monday...totally unrealistic but I had it in mind that the Friday before would be my last day at work. I was a PEACH that entire week (DD was 6 days late) to be around at work, I am sure. I hope baby makes an appearance soon!

Okay hopefully baby girl decides to come any day but today! Haha! Caroline says she's ready to play with her friend!!
