My kid thinks his grandfather is THEMOSTSUPERAWESOME person!!11 It's so damn cute. We went on a playdate yesterday and Aiden knew his grandparents would be at our house when we got home. He fell asleep in the car and the minute we pulled into the driveway, before he even opened his eyes I heard "Where's Bampy?" They stayed over and left tonight. As they drove away Aiden ran down the walkway like he was in some dramatic movie, sobbing "Bampyyyy! I comin toooooo!"
The only thing that cheered him up is that Bauer, the dog across the street, was out playing and our neighbor said we could come over and play with him. Thank God for the dog
Re: My FIL > Santa Claus
"bampy" is such a cute thing to call him!
The story around that is sweet and funny. Growing up we (me, brother, cousins) called our grandfather Bampy but he passed away when I was around 8. My FIL was always going to be Grampy but without ever having heard the name before, Aiden started calling him Bampy. My dad had wanted to be Bampy so now he's Bampy Mike (thank God my dad isn't a drama king over it, unlike my mother haha) Aiden calls my MIL Bammy
