Baby Shower

hello!

i'm new to the bump and about 12 weeks pregnant.  my husband and I moved to new orleans a couple years ago and both our families are spread about the country so we are trying to plan a baby shower early to give everyone enough time to plan.  we are planning for something in January to avoid the Mari Gras craze.  does anyone have any suggestions on places or things to do?

Lafreniere Park- The Foundation Center is a nice facility with 180 degree view of the park. I believe we spent $300 to rent the room, but that was 4 years ago.

I went to a shower a few weeks ago at the Kenner Pavillion on Loyola. It was a nice space, although it is kinda far out of the city.

Both are great suggestions outside of the city. Beautiful locations, IMO. Call ASAP though because both locations book up fast and far in advance.
