I used the recipe that the lady before me recommended before but mine had soap in it (obviously for clothing not for diapers, you just take the soap out for diapers) and I've been using it for over a year in a HE Washer. I haven't had any problems what so ever. BUT I have read recently that it is better for the washer in the long run if you add it to the barrel of the washing machine instead of the soap dispenser.
Charlies is HE safe. I use it for all our laundry and on the diapers. You can buy it in bulk (4 gallon bucket) on Amazon with free shipping. Cleans the clothes great and since you use such a small amount of it, it works out to be really cheap per load.
If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day.
