Super freaked out

I just found out today that Im pregnant again, our son is 8 months old.  We literally just moved into a new house, I quit my job and was planning on looking for another one in the new city we live in (I have to work for financial reasons) and I'm in complete shock right now.  Any advice on how to calm down, not feel guilty about my baby boy missing out on exclusive time with his parents, AND having to look for a new job while pretending to not be pregnant?!  I know I will be happy once it settles in a bit, but right now we're in a state of chaos!

Go out NOW and look. I was trying to get a job before I started to show, and before I know it, it was OBVIOUS that I was pregnant!  It takes a while to find work, so get out there ASAP.

 

As for words of advice, I'm in the same boat, so sorry I've got nothin!

We just found out we are having #2 also.  DD is almost 9 months.  Good luck with the job hunt!!  The sooner be better before you start showing.

Can't be of too much assistance on the job front, as I'm mostly a SAHM (work per-diem a few days a month as an RN).  But congrats!  Let the news sink in -- it's not something that's really easy to digest even if planned.  Don't expect yourself to be excited within hours or even days of that pregnancy test.

Don't worry about your son not getting one-on-one time with you guys (or as much as expected).  No future children will ever get to be an "only" and have all your attention.  It's ok -- he'll learn GREAT lessons by being an older brother and you are giving him the best gift imaginable.  Also, with the age difference, there's a good chance you won't even have to worry about too much jealousy as he'll still be too young to understand a lot of it.
