I know last week someone posted about a walk they are doing for Cancer. Next month My husband and I will be participating in a walk for Alzheimer's research and care of those who suffer from it. My DH works for Highmark and we signed up for their walk team.
My grandfather showed signs of Alzheimer's for years before he passed in February 2011. Often he only remebered me as a 5 year old. He never progressed to the point that he didn't know us at all...but he was heading there.
So if anyone would like to donate here is the link to my fundraising site:

Re: Alzheimer's Walk
That's awesome that you are doing that! My grandma had Alzheimer's for most of my life and she passed away almost 3 years ago. She did get to the point where she couldn't remember us
It was very sad, even when you expect it.
I wish I could donate but right now we are strapped for cash. Good luck though!
