  • Honestly, I just have to eat.  If I don't eat, I will just continue to get more nauseous.  I don't want to do it, but by the time I'm done, I feel better.  I try not to let myself get too hungry, cause I've noticed thats when I feel the worst.  I RUN from my bed to the kitchen in the morning to get food in my stomach before I start to feel crappy.  It's been working.

Try sucking on sour candy, I think that helps too.

  • Have had no real appetite for the last week or so.  I have to eat something to keep up my strength though.  I found that plain chicken bullion cools the queasies so I can eat.  If I don't eat at all that makes the nausea that much worse.  I also make jello water - make the jello with 2x the water and let stand covered at room temp and drink 3-4 glasses a day.  It keeps you feeling full thanks to the gelatin and counts towards your water intake.  Even with no appetite these things at least make me feel like I have eaten and sometimes make actual eating a little bit more appealing.

  • i was like that all last week when i was 6 wks too; i didn't really have the taste for anything, but like the last poster said, you have to eat something. maybe try food you haven't eaten in awhile (for me it was the AWESOME turkey tacos i had last wednesday and the BLT i had this weekend). or foods you wouldn't normally eat, just because you don't have a taste for them.

for me i couldn't think of what to eat in the future because it would make me nauseous. so i (try) not to think of what to eat until i have to eat (weird, i'm sure),

This helps for me. Also ease into the eating maybe, like start with some toast and then your stomach may be ok with more after that. :)

  • Thanks for the input I do find that if I am starving nothing sounds good but if I am feeling full I can eat what looks good, so I am trying to keep my stomach full so I can continue to eat.  Especially because if I'm hungry I am automatically crabby as well.. my poor husband I hope this goes away soon Indifferent

  • I am 8 weeks and 4 days along and my nausea, no appetite kicked in on week 6 too.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I am still having lots of difficulty finding foods that taste good or sound appealing.  The worst part for me so far has been drinking fluids, I have not found anything that tastes good.  My taste buds are so off.  I have tried many things but not sure any are working.  I am going to try acupuncture tonight because there are many articles that it can help with first trimester nausea....they way I have felt I am willing to do just about anything.  I also feel bad for my husband..dealing with me is a lot right now, but it will pass sooner than later.
  • I have been sick morning, noon and night. I recently had to get fluids because I was throwing up so much. I still do not have an appetite, but what I have found that I can force down is toast/bagels with peanut butter. Also, sucking on jolly ranchers have helped me a bit as well. Good luck! I'm hoping it passes soon as I am on the down hill slide of the first trimester.

This is great advice.  Also, taking any prenatals, etc. first thing in the morning may also contribute to your nauseousness.  Pretty sure the only time I threw up (and another time, very NEARLY threw up) was caused by taking my prenatals on an empty stomach because I was too nauseous to actually eat anything.

I still can only manage a Jacobs cream cracker in the morning, but as soon as it goes down the hatch, I feel better.  Chicken noodle soup worked for me during the worst of my nausea, too.  The smell got my appetite going enough for me to eat/drink it.

  • I am also about 7 weeks. I am sick every morning. In the afternoon it gets better as long as I take it easy. However in the afternoon if I dont eat every 2 hours or so I get sick. Small meals tho
  • I am 16 weeks into my pregnancy, first baby, it?s been very tough to eat anything. Like many other mommys I rather not think of what i will eat in the future or else I become nauseous. When my husband and friends take me out to eat they ask what I am craving, I let them do the choosing. I eventually have to eat something so give in, anything helps trust me. I?m barely putting on weight till now, which is good, my doctor said I?m ok. I am eating 6-8 times a day, every 2 hours if possible, small snacks!!!! The thought of chicken or beef gives me the creeps that I'm considering becoming a vegan, lol. You must do what you can! Crackers haven?t worked for me but try to make shakes and add a lot of yummy natural fruit to keep you full.

  • Days where nothing seems good I go for classics like chicken soup and toast. Cheese buns and rolling and ham cheese in a tortilla and warming it up till it's melty have worked nicely too. Oh and Multigrain Vegetable thins were perfect some days.
