New Moms in Ho. Co area

Hi everyone! I am due with my first Nov 9. I live in Columbia and would be interested in getting together with other ladies in the Howard County area that are/will be new moms. Anyone interested in starting a new moms group?

Welcome and congrats!! There are quite a few HoCo ladies on this board so I'm sure some will chime in. (I'm from Columbia but don't currently live there.)

Also, we have a monthly playgroup list for this board. A different girl hosts each month. I'm not sure where the next one will be but someone will post about it soon!

There is a free new moms group in the Healthy Families Howard County program. They start every 6 weeks. It is a 6 week support group where you do activities like infant massage, mom and baby yoga, check out the Play Partners series at the library, etc. It is free and you don't have to deliver at Howard County.  It was the best program I could have imagined and all of the moms and babies from my "class" all get together every month.

Also, I am in a group called SAHMS Howard County on Meetup and there is one on FB called Howard County Mommies and everyone gets together regularly.

I second SAHMs of Howard County. There are meetups for Babies of 2012 and more ladies due with babies in 2013. I had thought about joining the Healthy Families Howard County but never did with B and with C, I thought that it was only for new moms or that was the impression I got. I wish I had done it with B. Maybe we would have actually have gotten out of the house before C was 6 months old

Hi!  Congrats on your pregnancy and lil' baby girl on the way!  I'm also a first time mom, we're having a boy and he's due 1/10/2013.  We recenlty moved to Elkridge from Richmond Va a few months ago.  I'd love to be part of a new moms group.

I am also a new mom due 1/13/2013.  I live in catonsville, but my mother in law is in elkridge and I am usually over that way.   I would also be interested in a new moms group!

thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely look in the Healthy Beginnings. Maybe we also could set something up for the couple of new/soon to be moms here??
