I think you can help your skin along. My mom had terrible stretchmarks but after two kids of my own...I didn't end up with a single one.
I used both olive oil and my own thick belly butter mix (organic shea butter base, jojoba, unrefined coconut, and angel baby lotion)...apply daily and extra if itchy.
I second that you get them if you get them. Some of it can be prevented with a good diet, good hydration and moisturizing, but if the skin stretches too fast-it'll happen. That said I do use coconut oil on mine after showering. I'm 30 weeks with no stretch marks, but I'm sure they'll come I have a lot on my hips from puberty, so I think I'm predisposed to them.

I'm 23, almost 24 weeks, and luckily still no belly stretch marks, but like you, I have a bunch on my hips (and inner thighs) from when I was younger.
That being said, I just bought Motherlove Pregnant Belly salve at Natural Grocers for $14. All the ingredients are 100% organic.
It's kind of expensive compared to some organic cocoa butter mixture alternatives, but I justified it as a "self pampering" thing. The scent is very light, but it's very, very pleasant. It rubs on smoothly, and doesn't feel greasy. I just got it, so I don't know how long it'll last... but so far, I recommend it

One of my friend's used NYR Organic's Mothers Balm and loved it and said it worked for her.
