Students telling Obama jokes?

This morning I heard students telling each other Obama jokes.  Below is the joke I have heard numerous times today.  It is so silly b/c they know nothing about his policies or what he believes in.  I want to ask...why do you think he is a liar? It is just something they hear from home or off of tv.  The day after election they were walking through the halls screaming Obama's name.  When I asked why they are glad he won.  They said, "Um, I don't know.  I just like him."

To be completely honest I did not vote and wouldn't have had a feeling about the results either way.  I know I know I should have voted!

This happened in my fourth grade class during the last election. I asked why the kids liked one candidate over another and it was because that's who Mom liked or they'd rattle off some obscure fact that NO fourth grader would have known if their parents didn't tell them. It's sad to me.
