Hi ladies,
I really want to coth diaper my 3rd and was wondering instead of buying different size diapers when he grows, I think that a diaper with the one size would be most convient for us so we dont need to constantly buy diapers.
What is the best brand for doing this?
thanks!! I just want to do as much research as possible before getting into this:)
Re: What is the best one size diaper brand?
That's kind of like asking what's the best brand of jeans - everyone has a different body type and budget.
That said, for one size options I like BumGenius 4.0 pockets, Swaddlebees Econappis and Kawaii HD Square Tabs. None of those will fit a newborn, as most one-size diapers will not. People either will use disposables until the OS diapers fit or buy a separate newborn stash. I bought a newborn stash and it was totally worth it - got everything used and then sold it for more than what I paid when DD outgrew them.
First you need to make a decision about using cloth for the newborn stage or not. If you want to use it for the first few weeks or months - consider prefolds and covers. Very easy. Very economical.
Don't purchase OS diapers before your LO is around 12 pounds. They just won't fit. Once you reach this stage - consider a diaper trial. You will get to try a bunch of different types of diapers and see what fits your LO best.

As PP said, no best brand, all fit differently on different kids. Your best bet would be to buy 1-2 of a few different brands and try them out.
The brands I really love right now are Blueberry (#1!), BumGenius, and FuzziBunz (they are soooo trim, just like disposables, but are a bit difficult to adjust).
BFP #2: 8.31.16 Dx w/ GD @ 28w DD Born @ 36w: 4.21.17
BFP #1 11/28/09 ~ EDD 8/6/10 ~ DS Born 8/9/10
BFP #2 8/27/13 ~ EDD 5/8/14 ~ Natural MC 9/18/13 at 6 weeks, 6 days
BFP#3 3/28/14 ~ EDD 12/7/14 ~ DD Born 11/21/14
BFP#4 6/15/17 ~ EDD 2/20/18
My favorite are BG's, then Flips, then Alvas.
I have sold my Fuzzibunz and Bumkins because I just couldn't get a good fit and they always leaked.
I would like to try Kawaii but don't need anymore at the moment.
My favorite are my Flips....I use prefolds as well as the Flips stay dry and Organic inserts. You can put lots of different inserts in them so you're not limited to just using the flip inserts. Plus you can use the disposable inserts if you're on vacation.
Like everyone else said it depends on what fits your baby....the Flips are very trim on my son and he's pretty skinny in the leg and waist areas. I suggest buying a few different brands and see what ones you like then selling or trading what doesn't work for you.
My favorites are
1. Swaddlebees Simplex AIO
2. Bum Genius 4.0
3. Blueberry pockets (They are only down this far b/c the ones I have aren't the tay dry fabric)
4. Kawaii Pure and Natural (not OS but still has a fair weight range...fits NB to about 20 lbs...cheap to boot!)
5. AMP
6. Happy Heiny (but not their Aplix... only snaps!!!)
I also have TotsBots but I'm not a huge fan. The material keeps shifting, so she pees out the back...It may be user error, but I don't want to have to double check everytime I put a diaper on her that material is lying flat.
#'s 2-6 are all pretty close IMO. They all work well. Swaddlebees are amazing and I really dislike TotsBots
