It contains my maiden name, which my husband thinks would be awesome to incorporate... but I just know it will never be spelled or pronounced correctly! Please give your response/opinions! Thanks
Your interpretation is exactly my concern... my maiden name is Lehn (pronounced LANE). So, what I would want is people to pronounce it He-LANE-a, but don't think it would happen.... though still eager to see results of poll. thanks for your input.

i think most would pronounce it correctly and if not just correct them.
My kids name is a polish name and spelled PHONETICALLY and people still cant get it right i just correct them and could care less what others think.
in response to: I would never get to "Lane" from Lehn, not knowing anyone with that name. Did you have to correct people on your maiden name a lot?
lol...YES, 30 years until I got married! ha
Ok, well, I obviously didn't correct them when I was a small child...but yes, as long as I remember it's been spelled and pronounced wrong, which is why I'm convincing my DH we can not torture our child.
Re: How would you pronounce this name? (poll)
Helena = heh-LANE-uh
Because of the added H, I would assume you wanted heh-LEHN-uh. So, like Helen-a, only with the stress on the second syllable.

This exactly. If you want Helen-a, ditch the extra H.
He-LEH-neh.
That extra H looks very weird to me.
