WWYD? Re: Registry Bedding

So I've been searching up and down for a nice nursery bedding set and I finally found one that I like on PBK's website.  The problem is that it's on sale and most likely won't be around till January when my shower is.

I was thinking of just buying it myself, it would be about $240 for the full set and a matching rug which is pretty descent price for PKB I think, or maybe hinting to close friends family that this is the situation and I'm planning on buying the set myself and see if they offer to buy it for me?  I don't mean to be greedy or anything but I have two large showers coming up, we have a huge family, and I honestly don't think there would be enough "stuff" for people to buy on the registry.  What do you think, does this sound totally lame?

Also, my other fear is that I won't like the set as much after I buy it, or PBK comes up with something else that I'll want more and then I'll be stuck with a final sale item I can't return.  I guess I could always try selling it on CL or ebay but probably wouldn't recoop my entire cost.

What would you do?

Re: WWYD? Re: Registry Bedding

  • I already bought the bedding for the crib, it was online only and I wanted a chance to see it/touch it etc.

If it were me I would buy it, and just like buying a wedding dress stop looking after!

  • Loading the player...
  • If you love it, buy it.  I would have probably gone to my mom or mil and told them that if they wanted to get me something I really love this would be it - one of them might jump on it :-)

I was worried about having enough stuff on the registry too, I added many things that he would need later - solid food accessories, older toys, superyard, toddler car seats...  I did take back some of it, like the car seat because newer/safer models may be out by the time he needs it.

  • Buy it and then stop looking! If you keep looking you are bound to find something that will make you 2nd guess yourself.

  • Thanks for the advice ladies, I guess the hardest part would be to actually stop looking.  I know myself and I won't be able to keep from looking at the new PBK catalogue when it comes out.  Oh what to do, what to do.
