my husband's job is transferring to irvine, ca...they have given a few choices of living and they are all close to the airport(john wayne) just wondering if any of you can give me insight into the area if its a nice area? i have 2 kids and stay at home with them so we need to feel safe and enjoy our area.

lake forest?  i lived there for 3 months (just a temporary stay).  nice &safe.  family oriented.

Irvine has a reputation for being very safe, plus you will be close to other nice cities surrounding it.
