Just wanted to share with you all the daily recommendation my pedi gave me on how much LO should be eating. This is the recommended daily intake for babies 6-8 months old:
Breast Milk or Formula: 28-32 oz a day, 3-5 times a day
Solids: 3 times a day
Cereals/Grains: 4-8 T a day (= 2-4 oz or 1/4-1/2 c); can include cereals, teething biscuits, and cheerios
Fruits/Vegetables: 4-6 T a day (= 2-3 oz or 1/4-1/3 c); just pureed fruits and veggies
Protein Foods: 2-4 T a day (1-2 oz or 1/8-1/4 c), pureed meats, plain yogurt
(And no juice or nut butter.)

Cheerios are a common finger food. It's what people see before Puffs .
We started solids at 6mo, so it hasn't been that long for us either.
Starting today, DD will get 1 pouch of puree, split into two feedings at daycare ... today it's just banana, but many of the pouches are blends of fruit/veggie (which we used to feed in the evenings/at dinner until last week when we started more table foods). She loves those. She gets 1 mum mum with each serving.
Additionally, she gets puffs/rice cakes for snacks, and bits of what we're having for dinner (veggies like green beans, carrots, peas, tomato, avocado etc, and some kind of starch - sweet potato, rice, bread, pasta noodles. She mainly just plays with it, but she does eat some!)
We don't feed her meat of any kind yet.
She gets 5 bottles a day also, 6oz each (except her bedtime bottle, which is 7-8oz) for a total of 30-32oz per day.

Lots of Luck to all of 3T/IF
We started solids at 6 months, too. DD gets a little bit of whatever veggie we're eating for dinner, but she doesn't usually eat it. At best (with sweet potato usually), she grabs it and puts it to her mouth and "noms" it. I'm certain she's swallowing next to nothing. We discussed this with the pedi on Friday, and she says that's fine.
Well Reece has 7 teeth so I don't think it's that. LOL. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with something like that until he has molers and can successfully chew it up.
