Question for crafty moms

DS has always been a collector. Ever since he was a baby he finds things to gather and collect. Rocks are big right now. I am planning on decorating some kind of box for him to keep them all together, or at least out if LO's mouth.
He says he wants all different colors of rocks. What kind of paints would work well to paint some rocks? I'm going between painting a bunch myself and hiding them outside for him to find or going out with him, finding rocks, and letting him paint them himself. WDYT?

Re: Question for crafty moms

  • Nontoxic acrylic paint would probably work best. Make sure not to get the washable kind or you'll end up with a real mess!

  • I wonder if milk paint would work... maybe look it up and see what you think?

ETA: this site says it works with "stone" https://www.realmilkpaint.com/products.html
