    It WILL get better! My kids just started DC too about 3 weeks ago and yesterday was the 1st day my younger one didn't cry at drop off. I taught preschool and prek for several years before having kids and just went back to work.

    Some things that will help if you're not doing it already is it's fine to carry them into school, but do not carry them as soon you enter the building and definitely do NOT carry them into the room. Say your goodbyes outside of the classroom. Once you enter, help put his bag away, give him once last "I'll be back in a little bit" "love you" and leave. Do not linger, get it done and go as the longer you stay, the worse it will be. If there is second teacher, they should be getting up to receive your child and helping him go sit down with the class. If that's not happening, ask them to start.
