So i went in for my 14 week appt and i had to do a 1 hour glucose test since i have pcos and am at a higher risk for GD. Well i drink the nasty drink and then they take me back to see the doc. After we chat for a minute he takes out the doppler and starts to check the heartbeat. Well after like five minutes of searching all over my lower abdomen he can't find anything and I am of course trying not to panic. So he thankfully says lets just go back and do a quick ultrasound.
We go into the ultrasound room and again he is searching all over the lower belly and not saying anything at first (naturally I am about to lose it) he finally moves much higher and sure enough there is a wiggly baby bouncing all over the place with a perfectly beating little heart. Baby and uterus are measuring perfectly at 14 weeks but apparently my uterus sits extremely high and at the very front and baby is right under my belly button (he explained where it normally should be at 18 or 19 weeks). He thinks it may be sitting so high due to previous c-section and other internal scarring. Either way now i know the flutters and rock hard little bumps are truly baby and not me being crazy - such a relief after a bit of a scare!
