I don't think a 1 1/2 year old could figure out how to make himself vomit to get attention.

Ok obviously the previous posters kids have never done this but I know first hand that a toddler will puke for attention. My DD started with the gagging and she would laugh and laugh....then she would keep doing it and finally a few times she threw up...and she would also point and laugh. I KNOW she does it for attention cuz most times she will do it when its just us in the car and she wants me to play but i obviously cant so she will either start gagging herself or make noise like shes choking...

The only reason why it might not be for attention is cuz you werent in the room right? They usually do it when youre looking at them.
