Out of the blue, LO is extremely fussy and wants to nurse twice as often as usual. I suspect a growth spurt. Does that sound right? Did your LO do something similar around 2-3 weeks?
Yeah! And now again at 5-6 weeks. Our growth spurts show up when LO wont sleep even those he's exhausted, fussy and wants to be held whenever he is awake and wants to be on the boob whenever he is awake.
I so wish someone would have explained growth spurts to me. I literally just came from an appointment with my lactation specialist for fears that I wasn't producing enough because LO was fussy, wanting to eat every hour and seemed to never get content. After seeing us and weighing LO (who gained 6oz since our well visit on Monday) she said it was a growth spurt. She said just let her nurse as often as she needs when that happens because of the whole supply and demand that our bodies use to decide how much milk to produce. This may seem obvious, but for the same reasons she warded against supplementing with formula. (LO is 2w1d)

THIS in addition to a million other things!! My DH and I were just talking about this the other day. I really wish someone would have told us when growth spurts were so we didn't think something was wrong w/ our baby! Thank God for The Bump!
