We use our double stroller all the time, so I would definitely recommend getting one (get a sit and stand since your older child is 2.5).  Also, I would ask for a new diaper bag, sheets, blankets, mobile, etc.  I wanted my second to have some things that were just hers and it made more sense to go with textiles and decorations than hardware items that aren't really personal to the baby anyway.
