Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Anyone else's DH get home after baby is asleep?

WE had been keeping her up, thinking it didn't really matter, but when I went to the Dr they suggested puttingh er to bed earlier. So I put her to bed at 6:30 last night and she slept right through cranky hour, waking only to eat. (then woke up every hour all night long..).

?

The sad part is that DH gets hoem at 7 - he will never see her!!

?

That stinks!?

  • My DH gets home at midnight, so he sees her in the morning.

  • MY dh is only home for an hour before Sad
  • Alaina's bedtime has been 6:30 for 6wks now and so yes, DH rarely sees her at night unless he gets home super early. However, we get to have dinner together every night, watch our shows, and generally just get "us" time which is also nice. Now, DH gets up with her at 6am and spends about 2hrs with her in the AM instead. He dresses her and plays etc while he gets ready for work and then brings her to me before he leaves and it's time for her first nap.

It works wonderfully because they get thier own alone time which is very important, too. We get family time on the weekends.

  • one night a week, DH gets home after DS has already gone to bed.  he hates those days, but he knows that it's important for us to keep the schedule that DS is used to.
  • DH teaches Tues and Turs until 7 30, home around 745 and DS is just getting out of the bath so he dresses him and then I feed and put him down. He usually gets him in the mornings before he goes to work to have some time with him and weekends are daddy son time

  • Sometimes, I'm usually the one getting home after bedtime because I have afternoon and night courses.  It's crazy, but I miss a little bit here and there.  He might want to take one of the night feedings if possible, or he may just relish weekends.
  • Actually its me that gets home late and I hate missing bath and bedtime.  However I also take 2+ hrs at lunch so I get to play and nurse him so it makes up for it. We tried keeping him up so that I can be there for bedtime but he really prefers an earlier bedtime :(
