his vs. her orgasm?

So what is it that's supposed to get labor going... his semen to ripen the cervix (which I've read a good bit), or my having an orgasm which gets all kinds of things moving (which I've also read and was adamantly told last night by a friend who is a L&D nurse)?

I've heard a woman's orgasm can definitely help in the getting things moving arena, but I believe only his  side has been proven. I could be wrong, though.

It is thought to be both/either. When a woman orgasms oxytocin is released which helps the uterus to contract. In a man's semen is prostaglandins, which is what softens the cervix.

His. I also remember reading its more effective if swallowed, but dont quote me since i cant remember where thats from. However, if youre having sex, i dont thnk this should be an issue, ladies are always first...and sometimes last too

Sounds nice, but let's be real... one if far more challenging to achieve than the other, unfortunately.

I definitely don't think swallowing it would be effective at all considering the goal is for it to reach your cervix, which is impossible if moving through your digestive system.

And good for you for being first, and maybe also last... SO not my experience.

welp I put myself into labor with DS with my vibrator sooo I'm gonna have to fuel the research that a woman's orgasm helps get you into labor.  your uterus contracts when you have an orgasm.. creating contractions.

semen also helps soften/ ripen your cervix, so yeah.. both

I should have known this post would be about labor, but it sounded like it could have been more interesting...
I hope its his orgasm not mine that we need though bc our sexy time is too uncomfortable for me to get anywhere near an orgasm. TMI, sorry.
