PGAL is an entirely different world than first time pregnancies or pregnancies for those that have never had any problems.
I try to keep that in mind when I read those posts. I actually wish I could go back to being that naive again.
You will definitely find that you fit in better here than on the other boards, because we have all been through losses in some way or another, and tend to be less naive and more grateful for our situations.
Good luck to you, try to filter those posts out, and keep in mind that they aren't saying those things out of true ungratefulness, but out of complete naivete.
This. It's a matter of perspective. Many of them have probably never been through a loss or never known someone who has gotten devastating news at their a/s. The other day I started to actually think we would be taking this baby home, and then my pessimistic side came out and beat that thought down with a stick. Even though I "only" experienced an early loss, I just can't forget what all is still possible.
I totally concur. I have to say the disappointment posts don't bother me. Some of the women on those forums are very young, and have probably experienced very little disappointment or loss in their lives. And many of them acknowledge that their sadness/disappointment is just hormones and/or something they'll work through quickly. I'm guessing there are things in my life that I'm less than grateful for/take for granted/freak out about that someone who has had a tougher time or broader experience would be aghast at. I'm guessing, for example, that a cancer survivor who has had a serious brush with death has a deeper perspective on some aspects of life than I can possibly understand in my limited experience. I would hope they don't hold it against me or judge me.
This. It's sometimes hard to understand other's perspectives and it can seem like ungratefulness when it's the only thing they know. ((hugs)) hope you are having a better day today.
