Ever run out of things to talk about with DH?

We have a really good relationship, but sometimes I feel like I run out of things to say... Like he usually calls on his way home, I tell him about DDs school day, highlights, anything hard or rough, if I went. Somewhere... He does the same, but then when he gets home, it's like, well... I already told you about our day...so now what?  It's not all the time, but just bugs me sometimes. And then other days he will talk forever on the phone o his buddy about work or football...

  • Every now and again, yes.  It comes from spending our commute together, I think.  So I usually try to talk about what we need to do that night, or what I'd like to do the next weekend, or a random story I heard that day, etc.

  • Sometimes I feel like that, especially because he loves to talk politics and I hate it for the most part, and mostly we just talk about DS or a couple common hobbies we have.

I feel bad for not being a great conversationalist, I guess.

  • We do at times, but we work together so if nothing else we can always make fun of our coworkers together. There are many times we don't talk much, actually, but it's never uncomfortable. Sometimes we're both on our phones doing completely different things, but it's nice just to be in the same room together.

  • Yes, I am a SAHM and I don't have much more than baby stuff to discuss most days. He can only talk about work so much and I don't understand half of it anyways. We really need to get back to just talking to each other. I think we've both been spending too much time online :-/
  • ALL the time! I don't really need all the details about his day at work, he loves what he does but sounds boooring to me. And when he asks me how my day was I feel like he is grilling me or something, I know he isn't, but still.

When we started dating we talked on the phone for HOURS, seriously usually 10pm-2am after I got off of a waitress shift. What in heavens can you talk to someone about every night for 4 hours ???
