Rock-N-Play Transition.... please help me

I know this has probably been posted a million times, but I don't get on here on a regular basis, so please just humor me if you have any advice.

Obviously from my title, I'm having a hard time with this transition!  Can you tell me what has worked for you if you did anything "special"?  Right now she is swaddled in the RNP, which is working out wonderfully.  Thank the LORD, she sleeps 10-11 hours straight "most" nights.  She is right next to our bed.  However, she is 4 months old now and I would like to transition her to her own room.  I thought about just putting the RNP in her room, but this seems like a safety issue to me (as I am an avid Angelcare monitor user once baby is not sleeping right next to me), and I think just prolonging the situation.  So - long story short, I tried her in the crib, elevated, swaddled, and between a sleep positioner.  She managed to scoot to the edge of her crib, along with the sleep positioner, with her face in the bars - screaming. She is VERY squirmy but obviously she can't go anywhere in the RNP.  In the crib she is able to scoot.  I also tried putting rolled up towels under the sheets to make kind of a "dug-out" on either side, and that didn't seem to work either.  And made me nervous that she would get her face into one.

My 2 year old had no problem with the RNP->crib tranistion at 3 months.  She wore the Magice Sleep Suit from the first day she was in her crib until almost 10 months.  The thing was amazing for her.  Little E is not a fan.  I tried that too but she was able to move enough for her to wake herself and she is not good about settling herself at all.

Any suggestions?? I would really appreciate this.

Baby Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit, worked for me and a lot of moms on this board.  I highly recommend it!

I think you should just go cold turkey with not using the swaddle and let her get used to sleeping flat in the crib. We did that with my son when we transitioned him from the RNP this past weekend. It was a few nights of total suckiness but you might as well get the de-swaddling and crib transition over with in one fell swoop :). I think by doing that she will eventually start to figure out how she is comfortable sleeping. My son has discovered that he hates sleeping on his back (go figure because he loved the RNP and slept for 10 hours a night in that). After the first few nights of being squirmy and flailing around, he figured out that he likes sleeping on his side. Since he started doing that, he's slept much more peacefully and went 9 hours straight through for 2 nights in a row. We are also using a sleep sack- I think that makes the transition from the swaddle a little easier.
