I'm 9.5 weeks along. Monday I woke up with a bad sore throat and now going on day 4 of very runny nose, itchy eyes, cough, can't sleep well, etc.....I have not taking anything of course. I was just curious as to what you all woudl do. I have thought to call my OB and ask what to do or call my regular doctor and come in for an appt. But it may be a waste if they dont want to give me an antibiotic (I know amoxicillin is safe.spell?) Or should I just leave work and sleep the rest of the day? I figure my OB will just say take whatever medicine in on the safe list they gave me.
And of course all of my symptoms have dissapeared completely since this past Sunday Thanks in advance...
sneeze...cough...cough
Re: Im sick with a bad cold. :) advice??
I love my neti-pot to help with congestion/sinus issues...
My OB gave me a list of safe things to take during pregnancy - but I'd call them regardless and ask if they have a different dosage recommendation - sometimes you can take benadryl or something similar, but at a different recommended dosing.
Good Luck & Feel Better...
DH came down with a cold/the flu and I am worried I will get it - I am keeping him at an arms length and sanitizing every chance I get!!
lots of rest & warm water with honey and lemon!!! again REST.
I had a cold weeks 4-5 and i really resting and sleeping were the only things that got me through. GL and feel better!
I'm dealing with the same thing, my cold started Sunday and is really one of the worst I've had in a long time. I'm going to my regular dr tomorrow because I think it's turning into bronchitis, which is pretty dangerous for me because I have asthma and I'm not allowed to take those meds during pregnancy. I called my OBGYN (and asked the ladies on my due date board) and I was told I could take sudafed for congestion, which really was the worst part since I can't sleep if I can't breathe.
I also had my pregnancy symptoms go MIA after I got sick, but I think it's just that I'm so bothered by my cold that I just don't notice the other symptoms. I did have some nausea on Monday, but I'm assuming that as soon as my cold goes away my other symptoms will come back.
Lots of fluids and rest, feel better!
Rest and drink lots of fluids.
I was really sick about a week ago. I had a HORRIBLE sore throat, so one day I took Tylenol for that, and it helped. Also, one night I was MISERABLE and couldn't sleep, so I took Tylenol PM once... I got an amazing night of sleep and felt much better the next day, so it was worth it.
Some OB's say that sudafed is safe, but I've read mixed reviews, so I just decided to avoid it.
