"Ab" pain?

Did anyone else experience the feeling of ab soreness at any time early on? It sort of feels as though I did an ab workout a few days ago (which I definitely haven't lol) and it's the residual soreness. From my rib cage to about my belly button. And it's mostly only felt if I use them (i.e. cough/laugh/sneeze).

Didn't know if this had anything to do with the pregnancy or if it's heard of. I'm about 6.5 weeks.

Thanks everyone!

Re: "Ab" pain?

  • Yeah, that's what I'm feeling right now.  For about a week now, when I'm relaxing in the evenings I feel like my abs have been through a tough workout.  I'm about 6 weeks too.  It's normal.  And hang on to your hat because it's going to get more interesting around here :)

  • My obliques are mildly tight. I only notice when I reach up and stretch them out for some odd reason or another.

  • I had this last night after my run. (I could only do a mile, by the way. And boy was I wiped out!) I figured it had something to do with sucking in my gut to run, but maybe it was baby-related.

  • I googled this recently myself b/c I thought it was strange too. You're def not alone and from what I've read, it sounds normal!

  • Yup!! I started noticing it last week sometime. I'm nine weeks and mine is mostly down at the bottom of my abs. It's funny bc I'm generally a very active person, moving 200 to 300 pound patients every day and for the last month I haven't been doing anything like that. They say around eight weeks is when your waist starts to disappear so that might be why your obliques are hurting too.
