My opinion is....If the host ASKS you who you want to invite, then you tell her. If she just goes about inviting who she wants, then just go with the flow. ANd if there's someone you'd like to attend your shower but the host hasn't invited then and you feel comfortable enough then ask if it's ok to invite so and so. In the end it should be up to the mom-to-be. For one of my showers it was a surprise which was nice and very appreciated BUT I kind of wish I would have known because there were people that weren't invited who I would have liked to be there.
