Has anyone bought one or started looking yet? I started my search today. I'm jealous of all the super cute girl gowns. I'm thinking I want a simple knit cotton one piece outfit since it will be winter.
Assuming we are still Team Pink, DD #2 will wear DD #1's gown. My mom had her wedding gown turned into a Christening gown (with beads from my hemmed portion of my wedding dress). If this LO were a boy, I was considering having the same thing done with white shirts from MH and my dad.

These are the ones I like so far.
That's super cute! I also am jealous of all the pretty girl gowns. I actually have no idea what LO's christening outfit looks like. My aunt asked if she could make it. So, all I know is that it will be a romper with long legs instead of short, and that she is going to add a touch a blue to it somewhere. I actually am super excited to get it and see what she came up with. She is very talanted, so I am sure it will be cute!
Boys are so hard. Here is a picture of DS in his outfit, which we will be using for LO as well. Looks similar to what you like in your post. I got it from OnesmallChild.

I love the 1st one!! Where is it from (well actually where are all of them from) ?
I borrowed an outfit for my DS and can not seem to find anything nice and simple again like what you have above.
I am having a girl and it is just not my style to have a sparkly, sequined dress or shiny satin. I want something understated and simple and the 1st one is so gender neutral and just seems perfect!!

DS wore a spring outfit that was shorts so I don't want to reuse it for a winter baptism.
My MIL passed away from cancer last spring and her wedding dress was taken to a seamstress to make 2 christening outfits. One for a little girl and one for a little boy. My SIL currently has them so I can't post pictures, but they are the cutest things. It's also a really sentimental keep sake for our family and I know it means the world to my DH that our son will wear the little boy outfit.
I'm not sure yet what we'll do. DD had the typical gown, but I don't like most of the outfits for boys. I'm considering having a friend crochet a nice white blanket and wrapping him in that with just whatever on underneath.

what etsy seller made that dress? It is not too frilly. I did a search on etsy and got hundreds of results and after about 20 frilly, I got aggravated and stopped looking:)
taht one is very cute! I am looking for long sleeves but would love to see that seller's styles.
Our baptism is scheduled for 9/30 and LO will be wearing a gown that all the babies in my family have worn. My FIL's now ex girlfriend crocheted us a little cardigan and I bought some tiny shoes for her to wear in case it's cold outside that day.
I don't think if you put your baby boy in a christening gown it will scar him or anything--3 boys in my family wore ours--they just had cute non-church outfits for later!

she doesn't have any that are long sleeve, but perhaps she can make that custom for you the shop is called apricots and lollipops. i love her stuff because it's very simplistic and not over-the-top foofy and frilly.

I don't think there is anything wrong or girly about a boy in a Christening gown. I just want something simple that goes more with the style we had for DS.
Now I'm jealous I'm not having a boy because the outfit is amazing!! It's exactly what I would pick.
A family friend is making a gown for my LO's baptism. She asked what I wanted...or what I didn't want and I told her the following things: no lace, beading, pearls, shiny fabrics...something simple and classic. So, we'll see how it turns out!
Re: Share your Christening Outfit
I just saw #2 on Pinterest -- super cute.

Here's DD in the gown (and her best Blue Steel):

I love this one too. I don't love the one that we had for DS, so I may go and get something like this. Super cute.

I like that knit outfit, too! That was definitely one of my top choices for DS when he was baptized.
This is the one we went with:

He didn't wear the hat.
We also ordered socks & shoes from the same site.
