Lungs feeling squished!

Does anybody else feel like their lungs are being squished when they sit?

I feel like the weight and pressure of my boobs, mixed with my belly pushing up is squishing my lungs and making it difficult to breath.
It seriously feels like i have a huge weight on my chest pressing down.

Any suggestions on how to help ease this?

  • I've been dealing with this too. At first I thought it was just bc of the heat, but then baby found a different position and it wasn't so bad. Not sure how to ease it though. sorry.

  • I feel the same way. I try to sit with my back straight and my feet planted on the ground. Then I take a few deep breaths. It helps...

  • Also, try and put some pillows behind your back to keep you propped up without so much work. :)

  • Thank goodness i'm not the only one! DH was blaming my boobies being too big. Which in reality it definitely could be the case lol
I find if I lean back that it helps because the "girls" float up lol but i can't really do that in all cases depending on where I am. lol

  • I've had this with all three of my pregnancies and FYI, it's only going worse before it gets better:(

  • I have been having a lot of issues with this as well! My mom is a birth coach and she recommended laying on my side. I would have moments where I thought I had just ran a marathon I was breathing so hard. It's not that I'm out of shape it's that my little guy is squishing my diaphragm and lungs! She told me to hug a body pillow and lay on whichever side is more comfortable for a few minutes. And I usually feel some pressure release quickly.
  • My little guy ping pongs between sitting all up in my lungs or on my bladder. It a very uncomfortable feeling. I have yet to figure out how to get around it. I've heard holding a bag of frozen peas on your upper belly will get him to move, but I'm scared to try it for fear he'll turn and he is already head down.

  • I get this when I lay flat or sit up straight. Sometimes it feels lke the babies press up and I can't breathe. I try to stretch out as high as I can to give my lungs more room.
