Mine's not terrible yet, but I never had it with DS until the end. My go to remedies are to eat some plain bread and then drink milk (in that order). The bread soaks up/weighs down the acid and the milk neutralizes it. That and tums, lots and lots of tums.

I've been sleeping kind of elevated too, and that seems to help. Other than that I have been known to give in and take a Zantac if it gets really bad. Heartburn sucks!
Chewing gum can help. I chewed gum all the time during my last pregnancy. The salivia can help neutralize the stomach acid.

Re: Arrgggh..... heartburn!
I went through about 5 containers of TUMS during my pregnancy with LO and I drank about a gallon of milk a week to help it as well.
