Rec. your inexpensive crib

So we'll need a second crib here in a few months and I want to get an idea of which one to look for. We bought a more expensive one with DS, foolishly thinking we'd wait 3 years before our next child, and that's just not going to work this time.

What crib did you get that didn't cost a fortune?

Re: Rec. your inexpensive crib

  • We bought a set by Sorelle, 3 pieces for under $500 if I remember correctly.

Graco sells similar cribs to Sorelle and they're pretty inexpensive. Also check out the Ikea cribs.

  • We got the graco stanton, i think we got it on sale for 120. but is usually under 150. I love this crib. We have not gotten the converter kit yet.. i think that runs about 70 dolls more.

  • I would check IKEA.  Their cribs are pretty good quality  and not very much, comparatively.  They aren't as fancy as stuff you might get at BRU or places like that, but it's still a crib.

If I had known about them before, I would have got one for us.

  • We have had 2 Graco cribs and liked them both.  I don't think you could go wrong with one of those if you found one you liked the looks of.  They are around $150 or less.

  • We got this one (two of them!), which I really like.  Very sturdy, would never guess it was from Wal Mart!  Same company produces these that makes Million Dollar Baby, which is a higher-end boutique line.

We bought this mattress and it's actually labeled Million Dollar Baby.

I've also heard good things about the Graco ones, which are even a little less for some models, and they're often on sale at Target.  Wal Mart shipped the beds and mattresses to my store for FREE and if I hadn't liked them I could have returned them to the store without having to ship them back.

We have the Graco Stanton too. It's $150 on Walmart.com. Love it. It's nice-looking and sturdy. We don't have the conversion kit yet either, though, and I'm not even sure where to get it.

ETA: Wait...I do remember looking up conversion kits for our crib. Duh. lol As far as I've been able to figure out, the headboard just attaches to a standard full-size bed frame. Or to turn it into a daybed/toddler bed, you remove the front part of the crib.

  • We got the DaVinci Jenny Lind crib and I think it's adorable.  I ordered it off of Amazon.  I would have looked at Ikea, but they were not selling cribs last year.

  • I bought a Graco crib on walmart website. It was below 130 and came with a changing table. I think they have a special with a matress, and it works fabulously!
