2nd Trimester

Could he be in my ribs?

So, I am on bedrest and mainly laying on my sides. I switch throughout the day to relieve the pressure on my hips. But just today I started to feel an almost pulling or stretching feeling in my back/side right near my ribs. I really only feel it a little bit after baby has wiggled around a bit.

could it be that he is already exploring my ribs or could this be uterus expanding?

curious to know if anyone is having rib sensation at 26 weeks.

  • The lower costal margin is one of the borders of your waist line, and it is usually around the level of your navel. So yes, it is definitely likely that your baby is kicking you in the ribs by 26 weeks.

  • yep..I was experiencing this at 24-25 weeks but it has improved over the past week. I was placed on bed rest for a couple of days.
  • This post randomly reminded me of something I saw on that show "I didn't know I was pregnant"... which the whole show I find hard to believe. With how sick, sore, and miserable I feel, I can't imagine how a woman wouldn't know. Anyways...

On the show there was a woman whose baby was kicking so hard that it broke two of her ribs! Ouch!

ugh. that show annoys the crap out of me. i can't even watch it and when i catch a peek i just think "WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I mean, im sure it can happen. but to not know up until you're pushing your baby out is quite insane.

I understand how a woman might not know during her first trimester and the beginning of her second.  I mean, if I didn't know I was pregnant right now, I would not think that I was.  However, I would think that I needed to diet.  But, I cannot understand how a woman gets to the actual point of giving birth without knowing.
