My LO has had a problem with his latch for a couple of weeks now, and I really think he's not getting the hindmilk he needs - he's had a ton of green poops and he needs to feed more frequently than normal (for a couple of weeks now, not just a spurt). He has a shallow latch, and I've tried everything I've read to get him to latch better, but to no avail.
Do you think a nipple shield would be appropriate? How would I know what size to get? And he's almost 6 weeks old...would he even take the breast with a shield on it? (He won't take a pacifier.)
Thanks in advance!

The link reviews sizes. Just try a couple out. Also, my supply was affected. It can be a great solution, but just be sure to keep trying to latch.
Edit: For some reason, I don't see my first post. I was lurking. I used a nipple shield for 6 weeks and was SO happy when he latched (hard to clean (possibly led to thrush), he wasn't getting enough milk, hard to take with you always, etc). Have you seen a lactation consultant? Here is a link too...a lot of stuff online...https://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/tips-and-solutions/112/nipple-shields. Good luck!
