We're planning on cloth diapering for environmental etc reasons. Then my friend brought up the use of disposable breast pads. What EF products do you ladies use to soak up leaks?
I tried NUK and really didn't like them...they leaked a lot and moved out of place...
They are getting more absorbant now that they have been washed more but still aren't great. (They need to be prepped like cloth diapers...)
I asked this question on th BF board and the CD board and based on the response ordered some bamboobies. I am still waiting for them...even though they were ordered a few weeks ago. I hope they work better. If not, my next line of defense is to order some microfleece, hemp and PUL and try to make some.
I hate the disposable ones for so many reasons... They are super itchy and gel really weird...They have the same awful chemicals that disposable diapers have... (which makes me question if there's an issue with breastfeeding and chemical exposure...but I am super paranoid...)plus my bathroom garbage is constantly full of them... and they have ended up in my washing machine more than once.My nipples feel weird when I wear them too long, so I go without around the house snd have a soaked shirt. I can't imagine how it must feel to be wearing a disposable diaper all day. My bamboobies can't get here fast enough!
I like bamboobies reusable breast pads. They are pretty thin but hold a surprising amount of leakage. I like that I can wear them under even very thin tees. They don't really cut it for overnight, though--I have some huge organic cotton ones from BBB for sleeping. I also sleep with a towel under me at night since my supply hasn't adjusted yet. It seems like every time it starts to, she has another growth spurt!

I use bamboobies. They also make some nice overnight ones that are good. I've also been known to tuck some dish rags in there for overnight if I'm extra leaky.

I have a couple pairs of Apple Cheeks organic cotton breastpads, but I would much prefer ones with a waterproof barrier like PUL-- next time I will probably buy some cute ones on Etsy. I do keep some disposable ones in the diaper bag for emergencies, but cloth is more comfy. Plus, at the beginning I was going through a box (60?) a week... :S

If you don't want to make them yourself, there are a ton similar to this available on etsy.
