Tori for a girl?

I know it's kind of nicknamey (yep, that's totally a word, haha) but I saw a girl today that I went to high school the other day and her name was just Tori. I am really starting to like it!

As a nn for Victoria, I think it's ok.

But I don't like the -i ending very much (names like Tammi, Misti, etc. don't look very sophisticated or modern).

And Tory just makes me think of politics. It would be a shame to name someone Tory when she might turn out to be a Whig!

I don't really like Victoria. I associate Tory as more masculine, I guess because I know a Tory who is a guy. Vicky is nms. To be honest, I don't have a good reason for like the name. It just keeps growing on me. I thought of the Tori Spelling reference which I don't mind. Hmmm, another name to think about, haha!

I knew a few folks grouping up that were just Tory or Tori (girls). I'm not a fan.

I have a friend whose name is Torrey.  It's not short for anything and long enough to stand on its own.  I've always liked the name since meeting her.

My name is Victoria and I have gone by Tori since birth pretty much lol I always hated being called Vic or Vicki. I had no idea so many people hated it! I've neve rmet another Tori personally but I know its getting to be rather popular as I hear it a lot. I knew 1 guy in school that spelled it the same way (Tori)

One of my closest friends growing up was named Tori. I had never heard the name before I met her. Apparently, her mother was a big fan of Victoria/Victorian style. Tori wasn't a nick name, but her full name. Her middle name was Beth. I think it's pretty.
