Hello moms and moms to be :-)
Wondering if any of you all have or are currently experiencing any abdominal pain due to fibroids? I hope you aren't because it is AWFUL!
I had been diagnosed with fibroids years ago and was told that they would more than likely never affect me, even if I became pregnant. Just last Saturday at the 19 week mark, I was bedridden and rolling in pain! A trip to the hospital diagnosed me with a degenerating fibroid and sent me home with anti-inflammatory meds. Days later, I had to go back to the hospital and was kept for two days with regular morphine injections to ease the pain.
I'm home now and starting to feel a little bit of pain. Not as bad as before, but enough to be uncomfortable and scared. Any advice on easing the pain drug-free or when this pain will end (if ever)?
Re: Fibroid Pain During Pregnancy
Hi,
I usually only lurk, but I couldn't not respond to your post.
In my first pregnancy, I had several bouts of fibroid degeneration. It is not fun. For me, they were usually just under a week in length. Not much made it better - I hope you find something that works for you.
Fibroids can mess with things in pregnancy, even though they almost always don't. Make sure you report any changes/weird symptoms to your Dr. Fibroids are thought to possibly cause preterm labour (which did occur in my case, mid 2nd tri).
I hope the pain goes away soon.
