Trip to the ER

I had some bleeding, went to the ER. The doctor there said the u/s couldn't pick up anything but the u/s the said everything looked great? my quantitive blood test came back at a 75. Does this look bad? I don't know what my leeks should be at right now. We aren't even for sure on my EDD since my periods have been all over the place. They are worried about a tubal pregnancy, and I have to schedule an immediate appt with my OB.

I feel so nervous. Literally ill. :

Re: Trip to the ER

  • When did you get your BFP?

  • I got it on the 20th.

  • Which means your probably not 5 weeks along. I would say probably more like 4. Hence why they couldn't see anything.

  • That's what I was thinking, it's just scary. makes me nervous. Excuse me for being concerned? I also don't like how the ultrasound technician said everything looked great, and the doctor said differently.

  • I had a similar experience. Going to the ER at around 6 weeks with spotting. My doctor was a moron. You couldn't see anything in my ultrasound either. I went home cried for three hours. Went to my OB the next day and he said everything was completely normal and fine. Had my ultrasound on Monday and there was a little one wiggling all around in there!

So I feel your frustration with a "good" and "bad" opinion. Just try to remember that ER doctor's are not OB's. Make an appointment with your OB as soon as possible, and until then the best advice I could give you is to stay calm as possible. I know, much easier said than done.

Also the first thing my ultrasound tech checked was to see the placement of my ovaries and uterus. And they did confirm that my pregnancy was in my uterus. When you go to your OB they should be able to give you a better opinion on whether you need to be worried.

    Best wishes and good luck!

  • Thank you for your response! I appreciate the positive nature! I needed it, HENCE why I posted. ; I called my OB and the receptionist said she'll leave a note in the computer for her and the OB will determine if it's "important enough" that I need to be seen.
