Questions....

So I have mainly lurked but posted a few times on the TTGP board, so I am not sure if this is the right board for me.

I am on my 3rd cycle of clomid this month and from what I have learned on TTGP board I am not being monitered correctly. My OBGYN also assumes that I will ovulate between CD 14-16 and then come in for CD 23 bloodwork. Thats not the case. I am not charting (need to start) but have been doing OPKS and generally get a postive around the CD19- CD21.

Well they had me come in for blood work yesterday and my progesterone level was 10.4 basically the same as last month. My Dr called and said he would be referring me to an RE and that I still was not ovulating. This to me was great because I had just started looking for one on my own.

My question is what should I expect when I go and is this the right board for me?

If you're seeing an RE then yes come on and post away.

And from what it seems you were not being properly monitored but just to let you know most "late ovulators" ovulate earlier on Clomid.

The first appointment I learned how babies were made.  No really, he had a chart.  We talked about my history and my options for treatment.  I asked a bunch of questions.  I hate a date with the vag cam and they took some blood.  Read the newbie link and good luck.

Welcome welcome... I would say yes IMO.

Def. sounds like  you are poorly being monitored and yes you need to see an RE. Has  your SO had an s/a done yet? You should have an HSG done as well as b/w. A well monitored Clomid cycle would look like this: Prescribed Clomid to take on certain days in your cycle, Around day 12 u/s to check response, possible more u/s done if needed, possible trigger (HCG) shot to begin ovulation, BD or IUI 24-26 hrs following, Progesterone b/w done 7 days after, followed by more b/w & a hit or miss on AF.

Sorry, Im pretty bored at work today. I think this is how it would go for you though as this is how it was just for me. I cant stress enough that it is very important to take the right steps with an RE before you decide to take Clomid again. GL to you!!

    Thank you.

Yes, DH has had an SA done. I dont know the specifice of the results but my DR said he would be sending all of that to the RE. I did not have the HSG done. He said I didnt need to right now.

I am definitley waiting to meet with my RE before I do anything else.

Thanks for your responses, this is a scary road.

Your RE will probably schedule an HSG first thing --- if you happen to have blocked tubes, you don't want to waste time on Clomid, because it won't do anything productive! Good luck and welcome!!!

Unfortunately, there aren't a TON of RE's - and if your area is one that doesn't have many, it CAN take 1+ years to get in. (our area has about a 3-4 month wait) If you are willing to drive a little, call around and see if anyone else has an earlier date available.

Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 32, SA = perfect
    CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response
12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break.
Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN
    Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around.
Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN

Is there another RE that you can see? That is a really long time. I was able to get into an RE in about 3 weeks. I just recently changed REs and was able to get in to the new one in 2 weeks.

You will be amazed at how knowlegable an RE is in comparison to an OB/GYN and I love my OB/GYN, but I could just tell a huge difference. I truly feel like we are on the right track.  GL to you! I just started posting here, but really feel at home here, and there are alot of great discussions!

I live in Western Canada, so yes that's how long the wait is here.  But if you're willing to drive a bit you might be able to find one to get you in sooner, good luck!

Thanks for all of your help so far.
