DS has been spitting up a lot (sometimes an hour after eating) and occasionally has rough feedings do to, what i assume, is gas pains (grunting, mild "thrashing" around, etc) because sometimes he will poop or pass gas. we use the mylicon, but i dont always see a difference. im not sure if this is reflux or not because he doesnt really cry during these times. he is generally a happy baby
so, pedi suggested to try thickening his BM/formula (i EP and supplement with 1-2 formula bottles a day) with rice cereal. we tried that last night and during two of his feedings (only added 1 tsp per ounce), he still was getting the bad gas pains and DH said he still spit up a lot during one of the feedings. i dont think i want to continue doing this.
what do you think i should do? call the pedi? i just feel like they are going to think i am one of "those moms" that calls for things that are completly normal. ugh.
Re: a lot of spit up/grunting during eating -- pedi suggest thickening BM/formula?
I'm no expert, but I would probably try changing formula first.....
